Have you ever wondered how to open those intimidating looking pineapples? It’s easier than you think. Let me show you how with step by step instructions.

Here is what a fresh pineapple looks like. Mmmmmmm…pineapple.
First, turn it on it’s side. On a chopping block. And cut off the top.
Then cut off the bottom.
This gives it a clean, straight surface at both ends.
Next slice it lengthwise into quarters. Fourths. Four equally sized pieces.
You get the point.
If you are using the pineapple in a smoothie, don’t worry about cutting off the hard center part. It’s full of the good stuff (vitamins and minerals) and your blender will eat it for lunch.
If you are not using it in a smoothie, they you will want to go ahead and cut it out because it’s not very fun to gnaw on.
Then cut that quartered piece in half. This will give you a total of eight pieces.
After that, run your knife down the outer edge of the pineapple between the good juicy stuff and the not so great skin.
Then you are left with a delicious, juicy, tender pineapple spear that you can cut into chunks or eat as is.
It’s that simple.
