Gooseberries are commonly known as the Golden Berry, Cape gooseberry (South Africa), Inca berry, Aztec berry, Golden berry, Giant ground cherry, Peruvian groundcherry, Peruvian cherry (U.S.), Pok pok (Madagascar), Poha (Hawaii), Ras bhari (India), Aguaymanto (Peru), Uvilla (Ecuador),Uchuva (Colombia) and (rarely) Physalis (if you must know). I prefer Gooseberries and Goldenberries only because that’s what I am familiar with. Tomato, Tomato, right? Either way, these little yellow-tan-ish dried super fruit are super foods extraordinaire. They have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
